Under Texas Education Code §11.251, the District Educational Improvement Council (DEIC) is responsible for advising the school district on the development, review, and revision of the district improvement plan. The council ensures that district goals, performance objectives, and strategies are aligned with state accountability requirements and reflect the needs of students, staff, and the community. In carrying out its duties, the DEIC reviews data related to student performance, supports compliance with state and federal programs, and promotes shared decision-making by including representatives from professional staff, parents, business, and the community.
